Leopold scope for 629
Hi
Can anyone recommend a place / website to buy a Leupold scope and mount for my 629-2 Classic Hunter ? I am thinking of a 2.5-8 in silver.
I have tried a google search, but since I live in Switzerland, a US recommendation would be appreciated. I am travelling to San Francisco for a week of conference.
Thanks in advance

I checked Amazon and found what you are looking for for $544 and change. I guess you can compare from there. I doubt you will find much in San Fran as I understand the last gun shop there closed, due to political climate.
I hope you have a nice trip to the US.

Before you make an optics purchase for permanent export (whether shipped or hand carried) to Europe, I'd check the regulations. I believe that optics may fall under ITAR regulations. Would hate to see your scope confiscated and/or you get in a jackpot over this. It doesn't matter that the same optic may be available local to you. Just saying - check first, I may be wrong.
Good luck.
Adios,
Pizza Bob

That should be a great scope on a 629. I could recommend Optics Planet, Leupold VX-3 2.5-8x32mm Handgun Scope | Trail Camera Up to 24% Off
But, there may be export restrictions. They are located in Northbrook, Illinois.
Price is listed for the silver one as $589.99.

I would rather see a matte finished scope, rings and base on a stainless gun because the silver scope and stainless gun rarely match. If it's not going to match, it might as well not look like that was what was intended.

I have this same scope on my 460XVR -works great.
Like the others said - be aware of export regs.
As far as matt/gloss aesthetics - to each his own.

I’d recommend a Midway USA, given your 1-week schedule. They ship quick. My experience with Optics Planet is not as good in the quick-ship department. Maybe you could order in advance and have it shipped to your hotel? Good luck and let us know how this project goes.

Or try SWFA. Their prices are usually decent.
That is a great scope by the way.
