Default Mod 29-3/629-3

I bought these two at a sheriff's auction several weeks ago and just got finished cleaning them up and had to show them off. I was only going to bid on the 629 but I got it so cheap ($350 + 10% premium and tax) that I decided to bid on the model 29 also and got it for $425. I could not believe it. The 29 had pachmayr grips that I didn't like so I made a pair out of some jatoba I had in the shop. Happy Happy Happy

Winner winner, chicken dinner! I'd call that a buy one get one free sale. Congrats!

WHAT A SCORE---THEY ARE BOTH BEAUTIES......

I CAN ENVISION SOME JOKER SWAPPING CYLINDERS, AND PHOTOGRAPHING THEM AS A PAIR OF PINTOS.....

OF COURSE, I WOULD NEVER GO THAT ROUTE, BECAUSE I'M WAAAY TOO SERIOUS OF A GUY.....

Georgia sheriff's used to destroy all confiscated guns until a law was passed that forced them to auction them off. There are always more cheap Saturday nite specials than good guns but you get a few nice ones every once in a while. Low turnout at this auction so not having many bidders kept the prices down.

Dang! That's a great deal! I sure wish police departments and sheriff's offices around here could auction confiscated firearms. In VA, such firearms can only be sold to a licensed firearms dealer or they must be destroyed.
