Default 67-1 Purchased Today - Opinions?

Went to a local auction today not really intending to buy another revolver. However I looked at this 1987 67-1 and decided to jump in when the bidding was at $300. Ended up getting it for a bid of $375 ($450 out the door with tax and buyers premium). It came with original box, paperwork, (no tools) and like new original grips as it was wearing a set of Pachmyer presentation grips. Has smooth target trigger and red ramp front sight. Did an initial cleaning when I got it home and it is in excellent condition but had some buyers remorse as I already have a Model 15 and really didn't need another .38 Special. First non pinned barrel S&W I have purchased. What are your thoughts about the price I paid?

With box, papers and grips I think you did very well! I'm sorry you are having a bit of buyers remorse. Hang onto it a few months to a year, take it to the range a couple times and maybe your mind will change. If not, you should be able to sell it fairly easily on this forum.

In all seriousness, if you want to sell it, please contact me. I currently am looking at several Model 67s for a first handgun for our daughter.

Thanks for your consideration.

If you are worried, you can list here for $500 and it will sell with two hours I imagine. You got it for a great price and it is a great revolver. Box is just icing on the cake

I picked one up at auction last year and gave it to my daughter for her birthday. She loves it as it fits her hand real well. Good looking gun.

Well then I guess a Model 15 will be in the classifieds shortly. Seriously, I have 2 15-3's and a 67. Best all-around revolvers on the planet. Joe

A variation of the "Did I pay too much?" question that we see here so often.
I wouldn't second guess myself for a second with that purchase. What's the worst that you're going to do? Break even?

Here in California an off-roster 67-1 in fine condition would easily sell for $700+. Beautiful gun!

Since you're a fellow Virginian and just down the road a bit and you're having second thoughts I'll drive down your way and take it off your hands.

You did good, don't second guess yourself.

Hey man, I say you got a good deal. I just purchased a few weeks ago from a pawn shop a model 67-1 dated to the early 80's. Gun only, rubber Pacmyer grips, great mechanical condition, some cosmetic issues. Out the door for $420.00 and it will be a shooter. I love it, pre-lock, firing pin on hammer good shoot'n k-frame revolver. Most likly a cop gun. I'm sure I could sell for more than I paid.

I'll join in with the" ya got a good deal folks"! Around here you don't see the 67 often, the only one I ever seen I bought. Enjoy that one!

Gonna carry it? I'd sure favor a stainless M-67 over a blued M-15!

You paid what I'd dream of paying if I bought one. And I'd leave the Pachmayrs on it, too.

Get a decent lined holster and you'd be amazed at how little wear you see on the finish.

I have a M-66-3, which is a .357 and thus, more versatile. But if I had the loose money and saw a fine condition M-67-1, I'd probably buy it as a spare and just generally good house gun with considerable outdoors potential.
