I had some marginal involvement with such a project years ago. We had an affinity group, a peace officer's union. The guns were paid for in advance, a total of 4,000 units more or less. All Model 10, 2", 3" and 4", SB or RB were the choices. It was a huge administrative undertaking and without a mechanism to collect and sit on the money until the deal was completed it would not have worked at all. It's a nice idea, but for most situations is not practical.

I would say a reintroduction of the "357" Magnum, naturally with the current action and hammer block, and the barrel with the set back front sight base so it actually looks like the Pre-War.

Before everyone gets too worried about cost, according to the inflation calculator, $80 in 1935 equals $1,471.79 in 2018.

People spend more or AR rifles, often not including the optics, than this.

That said, we would never get a distributor interested, and even if we did, we could never all agree on a make, model, caliber, barrel length, and features. We have had these threads before.
