Default New 638

I've always admired the Bodyguard humpback revolvers but never had even held one. I've owned a few of the Centennial revolvers and was never impressed. I do have an LCR 9mm. It's ok. I miss the single action option. So yesterday at my LGS I noticed they had a 638 for sale. They let me look it over (SWEET single action, double action is decent). So after some dickering I bought it. Now I'm doing the ten day wait. Looking forward to seeing what it'll do.

Nice choice. If you desire a single action option I think you best of the lot.

I want one too. Well, something with a hammer but I do like the bodyguards. A couple of years ago my buddy had his 638 when we went shooting together and despite the fact that his was newer than mine and I think shot less, his DA trigger was a lot better than mine. I like my 442 and shoot it pretty well, but the trigger is heavy on mine. It's gotten better with dry fire and time but I keep telling myself I need another J frame to compare.... Some day I'll have the funds and find the right deal. I'm not really opposed to any model J frame in .38. I even like an exposed hammer.

I sure like mine. It shoots as well as I can hold it and is a great little companion wherever I go, either OWB or in a pocket holster. My first j frame 38 and it won’t be my last!

I was about to razz you for not posting a pic... Then I saw where you lived. You'll have it before you know it!

Congrats on the 438. I've owned two and currently own an M38. Big fan of the humpbacks and would buy another on sight if presented with one at a fair price.

Sorry you have to wait for delivery. Post pics when you get it.

I got a 638 with crimson trace laser grips on a trade .I really didn't want it but the fellow was short on cash and I thought well I'll do this deal then trade the humpback on something I do want .That was several months ago and it has been my companion when going to town ever since .It and a couple of speed loaders gives me 15 shots. My dad was a cop and his favorite saying when discussing ammo capacity and gun fighting was by the third shot you should be either won the fight or running .
