Default I thought it was going to be a Safe King.......

I've looked at a lot of guns this past year and often get confused or just simply don't remember all the details about which guns are which.

For one reason or another I thought my new to me Bangers Distributing special order 27-7 had never been shot but I was wrong.

Apparently my brother enjoyed shooting it so I will too.

A cylinder ring isn't proof a gun has been fired, only that the action has been used. Even a dirty barrel or cylinder isn't necessarily an indication, other than firing at the factory. If the cylinder front end has carbon rings around all the chambers, then it's a pretty good indication the gun was fired.

Regardless, outside of a true collectors item, use (as opposed to abuse) isn't a distraction, at least to me.

All of mine are safe Kings........except when I take them out shooting.

Only ones I haven't fired are a really nice 5" 27-2 and a alloy pre model 38 bodyguard. I just got enough of them that many of them just stay in a drawer of the handgun safe.

If I had a 27-7 I would have to shoot it. Life is too short.

I had one,and it was a great gun.If memory serves, it was serial number 007 of the run.
Heresy for some of you "keep it original types cause it's special or limited production, etc.", but I soon sold the Chinese case, and replaced the grips with Nills, which were much nicer.(The gun deserves better than laminated wood)
Probably strange for some of you as well, but mine, and the rest of my 357s, never saw a 357 round. Just 38 specials, and I especially liked wadcutters.

I just shot a box of .357 Mags thru my 686. I much refer them to .38s in a larger gun.

What are guns made for?SHOOTING!
I have a Python that saw light in 1956(2nd year of production).I went on to shoot it because it was the intent of its creator to do so with it.I don't regret a minute of it.

Thank you.

The first time I saw it it wan't in the box, just one of those zipper pouches.

I took it out and looked it over and liked it a lot so the words "I'll take this one" rolled off the end of my tongue. I had no idea what it was at the time.

I picked up a nice 27 no-dash too.

I have two that have never (once) been shot and I will never shoot them.

Doesn't bother me a bit.
