Default I got my 686 dirty for the first time today.

It quit raining for a bit this afternoon so I headed out to our gun range to shoot my 686 for the first time.

This was my first 6 rounds at maybe just over 100 ft.

This is what I was shooting.

29 out of 50, 58%. I'm quite pleased considering this is the first time I've ever shot this 686.

I knew I was going to like it the first time I ever held it in my hands. I will become more proficient in time.

Did you install the Millett rear sight, or was it on the gun when you got it?

This is how it was when I got it, Millett sight already on it.

I put the original stocks back on it and gave it a good cleaning. I'll probably put the Pachmayrs or what ever they were ( ) back on it and do some more shooting.

What "dash" # is it? There was a time when the Millet sight was factory installed, "if my memory serves me correctly".

Its a no-dash 686.

I wonder if that could have been part of the special order.

At a little over 33 yards that isn't bad at all. Especially since it is the first time you fired this one. At that distance I would consider myself lucky to make half that many hits on that paper plate. Good job.

And it was on sale. They discounted it almost a full 1%. An amazing $3.01. LOL
