Hello all I wanted to see if i could get some years on a couple of revolvers i just got from my father that have been sitting in a safe and he doesn't remember when he got them.

You can go to the smith and wesson website and fill out the date of manufacture form and they will let you know when it was made in about a day.

How about a better look at the grips that were on the Model 57? I can see where the corner of the frame has been trimmed. Fuzzy Farrant grips used this modification and I'm just curious if that is what you have - if so the grips are worth a considerable amount of money.
Adios,
Pizza Bob

Here ya go. I don't think they are anything special. I think my dad said there was some hammer work done but that may have been on a different revolver.

Pizza Bob is right on with the special & collectible stocks.
IMHO no Farrant's, but beautiful Hurst's. Example::
Hurst 'N' Diamond Checkered Combats
P.44

Up here in Canada,we don't see many of them .41 Mag.I know, they are only .44s with the business hole drilled slightly smaller but I've been looking for one for many moons now and still not finding any that would not mean the equivalent of chopping a limb away!
