I’m needing some info on model 620’s. I’ve never seen one in person but have a possible trade. It’s the 7 shot, 4”. The only one I find on Gunbroker is at $500 with 3 days to go.
Any pros/cons and help on value would be greatly appreciated!
The model 620 is/was the successor to the model 66 - heavy but half-lug barrel. All were 7 shot 4" and came out at the time of wholesale changeover to 9 mm and .40 S & W semi-autos, so their production was limited. If you like it they tend to go in the $500-600 range or so, the higher values with the original box and contents.
They are probably one of the most accurate and under rated revolvers S&W ever made. I have dozens of old smiths and I’m pretty certain it’s the most accurate of all of them. It’s what I now use to establish relative accuracy of my .38/.357 handloads. I have a spare 620 in case something ever happens to my primary.
