That's some real eye candy right there....

My favorite would be my 629-1 "Special Mountain Gun" (Product code 103619). This is one of the only square butt Mountain Guns made. There were 40 made for a special order by RSR .

This changes the game..... my first buy would be that 4" 686 round butt I mentioned for the reason I mentioned....... best all around duty/utility .357 going IMO.

Followed closely and quickly by the 3" 66 for every day concealed Carry.

My favorite 629-4. If I want to shoot at something and look good hitting it this is the gun I reach for. There's a level of confidence I've built with this revolver that isn't matched by any other ones.

Very nice.

My 28-2 is a 1978 model. This one has a lot of sentimental value to me.

My brother bought it new and let me take it rabbit hunting and gave it to me 4 years ago. He told me that I'm the only one who had ever shot it.

For me it’s not just one, but two

My 686-4 with a mountain style barrel profile and my 24-3 3 inch

Don’t shoot them as much as I should, but love them still.

These would be the 2 revolvers that would be the very last to leave my hands of all that I own.

Default Give it few minutes and I'll probably change my mind....

This model 60 for now. At least until the 3" K frame or the 3" N frame gap are filled. Which ever may find me first.

Oh come on guys, that's an easy question! My favorite S&W revolver is..... which ever one I'm shooting at the time! Altho, I must admit to being partial to my very first revolver - 686-4+ with 2 1/2" barrel.

These days, I firmly believe a lady just can't have too many revolvers!

Agree...........tough question !

For all the reasons of personal versatility, it would be a Model 63

(2nd: Model 15, 14, 67, or 66)
(3rd: Model 17, 18, or 617)
(4th: Model 624)

In broke old age I'm currently down to only one, the J-frame I've carried for eighteen years. But the sweetest handgun of any kind I have ever owned was a 15-3 bought unfired from an estate consignment. The trigger was splendid, but bordered on the miraculous after a master gunsmith did a little polishing and arcane magic. My son owns it now.

I need to acquire a Model 10 for a house gun, but medical costs mean I have to delay that fo now

I'd say my favorite is whichever one I am using at the time for whatever activity I am involved with. I love my 642, but it is not my favorite for hunting. I love my 460, but it's hard to conceal in a pair of shorts on an 85 degree day.

Of all the S&W revolvers that you own...or want to own...which one is your very best favorite?

To me, it's like asking which tool in your toolkit is your favorite. S&W handguns are like Snap-On tools in my toolbox. They're all my favorite!

For me it would be my 629-1 8 3/8 I got it in the late 80s and have tripped over many roots and slid down many a hill with that gun in pursuit of that monster buck right over that next ridge or hiding down in that swamp. We have chased him thru 6 states so far and killed some of his little brothers a bunch of hogs and a couple of very unlucky coyotes but this year this is the year .This will be the year of the monster buck .

my 1951 production model 17 with 6" bbl. got it from an old friend that passed away 9 years or so ago. it is the most accurate, softest shooting gun i have ever owned. he shot it a TON, ive shot it a metric TON, and someday my kids will too!

Default NOT HAVING THE EXPERIENCE WITH AS MANY...

I like the 640,617, 681 VERY MUCH. For the blue collar price & availability (& personal history for me) the model 10-6 pinned heavy barrel, presses MANY of my like buttons. Hard to find a better feel in hand one, SO FAR. An N frame 45 caliber is on my wish list. Not a fan of the newer J frame ultra lights with the flaky finish.

My favorite gun is the one I carry: a SIG P229 in caliber .357SIG. I carry it wherever I go and have done so for years; there is no rotation. I do have a selection of Bar-B-Que guns which I include in my 'full battle rattle'. That is defined at my house, when I go to the Twin Cities OR to church.

Those guns are presently a .44 Triple Lock with a barrel shortened to 3 1/2 inches, a 24-3 with a three inch barrel, a .38/.44 HD nickel plated with a 4 inch barrel and an original 70 Series Colt Government model with a collet bushing and an after market (I think) hard chrome finish.

That means I've ignored the size and weight of my ordnance when you consider one of that group is added to the SIG automatic.

Regards, Porkie

Mine is this model 19-3 that I just picked up recently. It just fits like we were destined for each other. And it shoots like nobody's business. Target was shot offhand at 20 yards.

I think my favorite S&W handgun might be, the one I haven't found yet. The one that keeps me going into little out of the way gun stores. The one that I'm always "about to find". It's the one that makes me check classifieds everywhere, and stop and turn around to go back in that pawn shop I just passed. And for a short time it's often the one I just traded for, or the one I'm cleaning for the first time.

But then still yet, I start all over again, looking for my favorite one.

I just had a Model 16-3 recreated using an original barrel and aModel 14-3 donor gun... but I regard it along with my K-22 and K-38 Masterpieces as one gun... Siamese Triplets if you will. This gun/these guns would have to be my favorite(s.) OTOH, IF I were really limited to an actual, single gun, I’d probably pick my custom built K-frame Stainless 327 Fed Mag for maximum flexibility. I could shoot the variety of 32 straight wall cases available and by reloading do just about anything possible for anything but the biggest monster magnums.

67-6 police trade-in that I got for $260. Smooth trigger, perfect function. It's the only K-frame that I've really bonded with.

For their versatility as far as carry options, ease of maintenance, reliability, and... pretty much everything about them... my 442 and 640 share the title of favorite and are carried about equally, depending on the situation.

Nostalgic Favorite.

Model 58 rode on my hip for 13 years and a million miles.

Practical favorite today.

Model 27 more practical for an old man living in town.

My favorite S&W shtf gun - my hard chromed 1960 model 28 no dash with tritium sights (4" barrel).

My favorite S&W to carry - my 3" model 66-4.

My favorite all around S&W - my 696 no dash.

My most coveted S&Ws that I'd shoot - a pre-lock 3" 686 7 shot, and a 627-3 8 shot.

My favorite was a 629-3 3 inch I bought in early 90s until I found the 69 2.75. It is slowly taking over as my favorite. It is not the first gun I would buy, if I had to start over, nor is it the last one I would get rid of, but it is my favorite smith revolver.

I have 3 S&W revolvers. a 637 performance center 38 special which sometimes I carry concealed loaded with Hornady High Power +P HP. And a 686 4" 7 shot 357 mag, and a 629 44 mag 6". The 357 was my very first gun. When I took it to the range for the first time I had never shot a hand gun before. I was so nervous I broke out in a cold sweat. Pulled the trigger and felt this rush of the full 357 load going off with all its power. I remember I was so proud to have this gun. I loved it.My latest in less than one year is my 44 magnum. Usually when I'm finishing up at the range I like to load two cylinders with Remington 180 gr. as a wrap up. Its definately an attention getter for sure. Such power with all the fire and glory. LOL! BUT!!!! My favorite is my 357 magnum. I have had it for a few years now and even if I don't shoot it for a while I can pick it up and lay down such a nice close grouping near the bulls eye. A total pleasure to shoot. Was my first gun, may-be that has something to do with it.

Gotta go with my 66-3 snubby I bought and carried shortly after I started my LE career back in 1990.

I have an old pre 19 that I picked up not very long ago. Has a good bit of holster wear but man is it a tack driver. In the short time that I've had it, it has become my favorite. (Hey Birdgun, that 19-3 of yours is a real beauty. I've admired it before over in the Saloon.)
