66-4 3" Lew Horton Super K frame

I tacked this on to an old thread and didn't get any feedback, so I'll give it a try as a new one.
I have read all of the past threads I could find on here regarding the 66-4 Lew Horton Super K. I'm familiar with all the history and love the gun!!! I have just taken ownership of one LHN0135 in beautiful shape with box and papers. One of the nicest revolvers I've laid my hands on.
I have been unable to locate any recent sales on these (within the last 5 years). Could anyone please provide me with some information regarding value. I like to keep records current on values of all my pieces for insurance and general records.

I am very excited to own this fine piece!
I was also able to get a Paxton Quigley 640 2" 38 in the deal that is also really pretty sweet. Interesting story with Ms Quigley

Pretty sweet alright... Those look like Badger Custom rosewood laminates (w/ inlay) on there.

From what I recall, she was not an advocate of guns. One of her good friends was brutally raped and was not able to defend herself. After this horrible event, she became a huge spokesperson for female self defense. Wrote several books, appeared on many talk shows, and developed a pretty good relationship with S&W. This is the cliff notes version of the story as I'm sure others could offer more details.

Product code 170014, 250 were produced as a Lew Horton Exclusive offering in 1994. They made this 640 in a limited run through their performance center.

I regards to the 66-4 can anyone on here give me some ballpark values on the super K??? or point me in the direction where I could get this info???

If there are no sales figures to go by then what you paid is the value. Of course the insurance company will give you less for it than a 4" Model 66.

Wish I could help, but all I can do is drool and covet that very nice revolver. I just got a 3" lnib Model 66. It's gorgeous, but I covet yours!!

wish I could find one, but have no idea what ti'd be worth.

There are supposedly 164 others out there. Guess they just haven't sold that often. Here is a letter that was on here a while ago in another thread that gives the details.

I may not be much help as I acquired my Super K through a trade deal. Tried to purchase one but never could seem to find a willing seller for several years and was not willing to pay "any price" for one. (The firearm I traded was actually "rarer" than the Super K but its all in what we want for our collection).

A dealer or two, who know I have one, say they will pay "big bucks" for it...but no one has actually quoted me a real figure. Also, things change with time. I distinctively remember one on GB several years ago that ran for quite some time...with almost no interest.

My plans are to enjoy it and display it at the S&W Symposium in Dallas along with some other PC guns. Then we are going to evaluate our collection and see what stays and what may go.

Interesting combination of heavy target and carry gun features. It should be a great shooter in the right hands and shows the another part of the trend to toward heavier barrel models like the 686. You could probably get the same results with a Magna Ported 4” Model 686, of course, but then it wouldn’t have the same cool factor.
