Default Cannot find info on 64-3

I'm totally new here and have searched the forums and cant find anything specific. I have my father's Model 64-3 and trying to get some info on it. This past Father's Day marks 20 years since he has passed, and I have never fired it for sentimental reasons and have my own firearms to shoot. I remember he bought it at sheriffs auction and had never been fired (except test fired). The only numbers I can find are on the butt stock is ABR8410 and the yoke says Mod 64-3 A26 with a horizontal "S" and the number 22222 below it. Its a 38 Spl with the 4" heavy barrel in stainless. Any info will be greatly appreciated!!!

So far all I see is 64-3 1977 change to put the gas ring from the yolk to the cylinder on heavy barrel versions. I also see 64 Dash 3 4 inch barrel metro district of Columbia marked M DC. 64 Dash three round but 3 inch heavy barrel marked Georgia parole board. And 64 Dash three heavy barrel marked PXPD phoenix Arizona police department. So far that’s all I found is far as when the date might be that it was manufactured.

The serial number with the ABR prefix on the butt puts it around mid 1983 manufacturer date. The other numbers you refer to are assembly numbers. Great looking gun and welcome to the forum.
