Ultradot Question
Hello everyone, i’m buying an ultradot for my 686 competitor, i found this one used online at a very small price. The seller doesn’t know what it is, and when i asked him to show me if it works he sent me those 2 pictures.
My question is : it works for your opinion or it’s broken?
Before any “buy a new one” i live in italy and here ultradot doesn’t ship 😂 . Every opinion on my question is very appreciated

You can shoot a picture through the device showing the red dot. He's just not taking very good pictures.
BTW, I have that same red dot and it served me well mounted to a Super Redhawk. My father is using mine at the moment.

Ultradot is a high quality red dot scope. I have an Ultradot II that I really like. However, those 2 pictures do not show if that particular one works or not.

It looks like you're seeing the glow from the dot on the inside, but you can't really see the dot. Maybe ask him to send a better pic that shows a clear dot.

Where is your seller? If he's in the U.S., he needs an export license to ship gun parts over $100, and a sight is considered gun parts. You said it was cheap. Under $100?

As long as there's a dot when you turn it on, you mount it on the gun and sight it in like a regular crosshair scope.

You won't find many for $50. You'll have to sight it in, but it's pretty easy. Just turn the arrows toward the way you want the shot to move. Start at 5 or 7 yards so you can get the first shots on paper.

Ultradots have always served me well. The only time I ever had an issue was when I dropped my gun and it landed on the Ultradot and bent it up a bit. I recommend them over any of the other ones available.

A picture of it's controls would help? I own two Ultras, one with four sizes of dots the other a LT model, both work great for me. The LT now sits on my S&W 22A-1 while the other sits on my whitetail hunting 629-4.

I've got a 2 moa model and it is the only thing that can live through 30-40 Krag recoil in a re-chambered Contender. $50 is one third the price of mine new five years ago. I'd jump at $50 for another.

One of mine stayed working and the adjustments held on my FA 454. I had a 29-4 that killed an Aimpoint and several Burris scopes. Now it also wears an Ultradot.

Agree , not that hard to take a pic of the illuminated dot with the scope pointed at something in the distance.
I have two Ultradots , one bought new used on a Smith 41 target pistol , the other bought used first mounted on a 2.5" 686 and now on a Ruger Single Six. Very nice red dot.

My Matchdot2 sits atop my 629-6. Only a few hundred rounds so far but it's held zero. It already survived 20,000 rounds of 22LR, but that's probably not too remarkable.

These are the other pictures he sent me : as i said the guy has absolutely no clue of what is that and how it works , i asked if he see a red dot inside but he said “i see red but not a proper dot” and i don’t know if he’s looking straight or not too 😂 , if some of you has suggestions on what to ask him or how to set the dot well in the sight, would be amazing !

You don't have to set anything to see a dot, other than the power level setting. If you're looking at it straight, you'll see a dot. If you can't see a dot with any alignment, there's something wrong.

Great quality red dot sight. This Matchdot 2 holds up to my Performance Center S&W .460 Magnum rounds. Good choice at a great price.

I don't see the name "Ultra Dot" on that scope, the pictures show some other name, looks like "Inter Sight" in the photos.
Every real Ultra Dot I have seen has "Ultra Dot" on the battery cover.

I agree with adwjc. It doesn't look like any Ultradot I've seen before. $50 may well be too much! Buyer beware!

There are literally dozens of brands of red dot sights, ranging in price from $17 up to several hundred. What I see in your picture isn't an "Ultra-dot", but some kind of Chinese red dot. sort of like a Millet I had some time ago, which wasn't a bad dot, but cost about $65 new. When it comes to recoil absorption cheap ones seem to fail fairly quickly.

I would bet that the seller knows exactly what they have and is playing dumb in the hopes that you will be dumb too.
