Default Looking for info on black 342 made in early 2000's?

Looking for any info on these model 342 all black guns. I am looking at one and do not know much about them except that they were made from 1999 to 2004 I think and they come in a presentation case too. I know the 340 replaced the 342 so any info on this gun would greatly be appreciated. Just wondering if the 340PD is built any better than the 383342 version. I dont care to shoot 357 so that is why the 342 is calling my name and the 342 is alittle lighter to boot.

Anything I should be looking for when I am looking it over? Thanks E1...
