Default Picked up this jewel Saturday

I had my eye on it for a couple of weeks, and finally decided to make an offer. I was pleasantly surprised the offer was accepted!

First wheel gun in years!

Sweet Model 60!

I own 2 and find them to be the ideal all-around CCW for my particular needs.

Very nice. It would be hard for me to pass up a nice condition M60 for a good price.

Congratulations on a great addition to the family

It looks like it is in very good condition

Now are you going to wear that jewelry on a white gold chain? Or a platinum chain?

Very nice.

Is it a 60-3? It has the smooth combat trigger. Just curious.

Here's the opposite side, and a shot of the serial number. Any idea the date of manufacture/shipping?

Thanks for asking, Bob. It is a no-dash model. Serial number is ABR9XX. I'm curious about date of manufacture. I'm guessing very early 80's.

M-60-7? Probably the best, most evolved version.

A perfect M-60 is like Tim Tebow's description of the diamond he recently gave to fiancee Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters, former Miss Universe. He said he chose the 7.25 carat stone because it is, like her, "flawless."

Later:

I just saw the post about this being marked only as a M-60. The lack of a barrel pin and the wide, smooth trigger led me to guess it might be a M-60-7.

As for the size of your hands...were you related to the late Bill Jordan?

I had trouble deciding if I wanted to get a wheel gun and add yet another caliber to my collection. It didn't help that this past weekend was my LGS "Ruger Days" sale, and I had been admiring a SP101 in 9mm.

Ultimately the little Model 60 won out. I couldn't stop thinking about it after first seeing it 2 weeks ago. My heart skipped a beat when I didn't see it in the case where it had been before, but was relieved that they'd only moved it up to another shelf where it wasn't easily seen.

I have a 60 exactly like yours with no dash. A friend of mine sold it to me, it was his BUG until he retired. He said he bought his in 1984 and the serial starts with AER4xxx. Yours should be close in age.

Here's mine when I got it. Right now it has the Lightning grips on it.

Congrats! You found a little jewel. Mine is a 60-12. I previously had a sp101 which is a nice revolver, but I like my model 60 much better.

Default Great Minds and all that

What a beauty! Picked mine up yesterday, been wanting a Model 60 pre-lock for a long time but the prices were painful. Finally got one at a good price. Now for a new set of Altamont grips that it deserves.

Enjoy your new 60, I know I will!

Just dated mine today Dec 20th 1983, but it took a code off of the box, and a brighter mind than me. M60 no dash. Price on the box was 119.00

Finally made it to the range and shot it yesterday.

As for small gun rapid fire, I'm still shooting better with my Ruger LCP, but wasn't far behind with the 60. I believe T-grips would help with that.

Great pick up. I still have my model 60 no dash that I bought about a year after I joined the force. It shipped in 1976, the year I purchased it. They were pretty hard to find back then. I carried it off duty for many years, and found it to be very accurate.

I always fitted it with a Tylers T Grip, which I still have, but on loan to another revolver when this pic was taken:

I think you'll like it, and they don't make them like that any more!!

Best Regards, Les
