Default Big bore snubbies

How about a trio of 44 Mags? These are a handful, but the 240gr slug moving at 1100-1400 fps should make quick work of goblins and miscreants

How about it? Show what ya got

Left to right: 629 EFFECTOR, 58-29 Jovino/Behlert, and 629-5 Camfor Limited.

Amazing collection. That 58-29 Jovino is stunning.

How bout a duo? Model 29-3 Lew Horton overrun and a Model 296 Ti.

Default Here's a gaggle of big bore snubbies

And another: Model 296

Some individual photos of those above.

Jovino, Model 25-2

629-3 Lew Horton, Carry Comp (Mag Comp)

629-6 Camfour

Model 696

Even though I have small hands, I simply love N frame, short barrel, big bore revolvers. Also not against L frames.

I only have one.

A 629 backpacker.

2.5" ported barrel.

These were a limited run for some distributor I believe.

How about old school. Here is a .455 Hand Ejector that was converted to .45 Colt and had the barrel cut:

This one used to be mine, now lives with another member. I got it from a friend, unfortunately he recently passed. We couldn't determine who did the work. It was marked 28-2 but converted to .44spl. I had some issues with it when I first got it, had a local talented gunsmith get it squared away. Good shooter after that. Has the looks/features of either Behlert or Jovino. Here's the thread from when I got it (just past 2 years ago):
Possible Jovino 28-2 .44spl **Update Post 35 w/range visit**

If that was fixed sight with a bobbed hammer.... That's pretty much my dream gun. The 296 Ti is close... but not quite the one. That Camphor 44 is amazing too! Gah I love 44 snubby carry guns with rounded edges.

Prototype S&W 460 Night Guard built for display at 2008 Shoot Show. Apparently the gun got little interest and was not produced.
It has all the features of the other guns in the Night Guard series except it is still stainless frame and was finished with Black Magic.

I had a Horton 29-3. Got it because I really liked my M36-1 with the 3” barrel. Turns out I prefer the 4” tapered barreled N frames preferably in 45 ACP.

325 NG in .45acp. One pound less than a 1911. Launches same bullets.

I've got this one too, it's not quite a snubby, which is why I did not put into my original post. This is a commercial 1917 in .45ACP with the barrel snipped to 4". I imagine some old time copper must have really known what he wanted and had this gun cut down from the original 5.5":

Just the one, but a local shop with a couple 325PDs has my interest.

Nice looking revolver. I have a fondness for the 4” tapered barrel in 45 ACP. Carried one when I wore a badge. Still have a few.

Default A Hand Full

Sorry no nice Pictures from this guy.

My Circa late 90's S&W Model 696-1 44Rem Spl Cartridge,
Stainless Steel, Swing-Out Cylinder, Hand Ejector, 3" Barrel,
Adjustable Rear Sight, Round Butt Grip Frame with the
Original Uncle Mike's Black Hard Rubber Grips. Product Code
103132, Serial Number CDL49... Bought in Spring 2018 New
in the Box, Factory Fired Only. Sat in someone's Safe all
these Years.

Just fun to Shoot with my 240gr Lead Round Nose Flat Point
Bullets (with Red Dot Power).

At the Range again yesterday, I've found out again, that the
3"Bbl is very unforgiving at Long Distances. At 10 yards its
Dead On.

Like all my Guns it's in a Good Home and treated very Carefully.

Cool Big Bore Snubbies, I'll play!!

This is a thread I can really relate to. I can't explain what it is that draws me to them, but I must have them, ALL.

A few photos, not nearly as nice as some of you have posted. First, my display in Charlotte in 2017, next my UDR's. the rest are in no particular order.

Best regards, Bob.

A few photos, not nearly as nice as some of you have posted. First, my display in Charlotte in 2017, next my UDR's. the rest are in no particular order.

Best regards, Bob.
Not all of those are big bores though

Seriously impressive collection. Hats off, sir.

How about a pair of 45's

The blued gun is a Jovino Model 25-2, and the SS gun is a 625-3

Here are my two ham hock slingers... The blued M29-3 Lew Horton Special and my stainless M629-5 "Mountain Back Packer" both in .44mag/spec. The LHS wears OEM Combats and the MBP sports a brand new pair of Culina "Combats"... I've gotten really good at staging both triggers to the point that 95% of all shots touched off are effectively in single action... making for a very accurate pair of Heavy Hitters. I run medium sauce 240's thru the LHS and the 300 to 305 grain pills I love to shoot are reserved for the "Endurance Package" equipped MBP that I bought specifically for popping steel and "Woods Carry"... (that is when I get to actually do these activities now days that is.) I love them both and the 3" N frame is my favorite handgun of all time for its versatility, carry-ability, and capability.

Nice pics in this thread fellas! Keep them coming...

I like it man! 3&3/8ths inch is an interesting barrel length but it works for this particular rig and looks really good. The front and rear sights you can tell was performed by a professional as well. Thanks for posting!

Got started on the 3” N Frames around a year or two ago. I’ve been busy ever since. The 3” bug in general bites pretty hard. The 3” N Frame bug is insatiable!

Who did the hammer conversion? It almost looks like a ring hammer from a Colt Commander. Neat project BTW.

Not sure ... Bought the gun as it is. The trigger was worked over as well and was done very well.

Default How about some 41 Mag fun?

I looked and looked for this gun for almost 20 years.....once I found it, I found 3 more back-to-back. I bought them all

This is the only 1 that I kept.

The combat stocks make it a pleasure to shoot, it is like they were made for my hands.

Here is a quick shot of my big bore snubbies. Only one .44 Magnum, the Model 69. The rest are .44 Specials: a 24-3, 696-1 plus a GP100 for the hoi polloi...

Bottom row:
Charter Arms Bulldog .44 Special
Model 24-3 3" .44 Special
Model 696 no dash .44 Special

I've shown this one many times. A Model 28-2 converted to a 3 1/4" .45 Colt.

Very nice! and not one that most folks think of when we talk about 'big bore', but it is a true .410 bore.

Is that one of the ~300 piece run for Lew Horton?
