Default SN Prefixes on Special Run Guns

On some of the PC guns and special variations of others, the serial number prefix would seem to be significant in that it stands for something. Here are the ones that I have noticed:

CSH - from the Lew Horton Case Hardened Heritage Series (Model 24-5)
TWT - from the Texas Wagon Train commemorative (Model 544)
SUP - from the Banger's .38 Super N-frame (Model 627-4)
HEG - from the Sports South Heritage Series (Model 25-10)

The last one (HEG) is a bit of a puzzler. I'm assuming the "HE" is Hand Ejector, but I'm not sure what the "G" stands for, unless it's simply Gun. Any help here would be appreciated.

How about other special prefixes - please add them to this thread.

Adios,

Pizza Bob

CEN for the first model 640s, TRR for the Thunder Ranch .44 Specials (and others), TR for the Texas Ranger commemorative, and a bunch of LHs for the other Lew Horton special runs.

There are PC 627-3 V Comps with a "NWR" prefix. I'm guessing that it stands for "New World Record" in honor of Jerry Miculek's 8 shot speed record. But this site's resident expert on the Model 627 doesn't believe so.

edit to add..

"CFR" for Camfour (distributor). I've seen this prefix on PC semi-autos more so than revolvers.
"KCP" Model 19 K-Comp
"LMH" PC 686-4 "Light Magnum Hunter".

I'll add a couple that are more then conjecture.

RSR for RSR Group, used on their late 90s era 629-4s and 657-3s. These were in the slab sided Light Hunter Configurations built by the Performance Center.

And a rare one, ERV for Ernie Robert Vedersen, of Snake Eyes golf fame who joined S&W to design S&W Golf clubs in the early 2000s under the name Vedersen Design Group (VDG). The head of these clubs were forged by S&W.
