Default 651 snub

There are a few 651 snubs on the auction sites and I wanted to k ow how many of these were made? And what years? Because it sure seems like they want big money for a rimfire j frame.

I have been watching the online 651 snub market for probably a year or so and it is batshoe crazy what people are asking for them. There's been one of for like $2300 for some time now. I suspect it will continue to sit for that price, but it is a rare day if you do find one it seems.

I would love to have one, but I am not in a position to spend $2300 on a pistol, so I doubt I ever will.

In the past, I have tried to buy one.
I have been rebuffed, I think I had gone to $1,200.

Well there’s a reason the ones on the auction sites are not selling. Priced too high.

Of the two of them I owned at one time, both shot to one side.

SCSW says 1241 of the 2" were made in 1998-9.

Even the standard 4" guns bring good money. They're not very practical as a range gun, but they do an excellent job of offing porcupines at deer camp!

My guess is he meant both guns shot either far left or right with the sights centered.

You’ll usually see 2” 651s in the low four figures. Like a .30 Carbine handgun, shooting rifle rounds in a handgun is loud; there are handgun loads for .22 MRF that are probably quieter but not quiet.

Anyone know any specs on a 2" 651 with serial prefix CBD, product code 103900, spec order code 6173

Is this a Lew Horton? RSR? I know that's a LH product code, not sure about the spec order code. It doesn't match up to other known LH guns.
