.....well 22 Magnum that is Model 351c NO LOCK!

I have wanted one of these for a while. Found this one cheap online. The Big Dot makes finding the front sight super easy, but does not make super accurate shots seem possible at any real distance. I have about a box off CCI Maxi-Mag through it. So light, it feels like a toy. 7 Rounds of CCI Maxi-Mag HP ought to do the trick.

Now to find an equally cheap 43C





It fits all of my regular centennial leather and I hear there are some dandy short barrel defense loads on the market. I can hardly wait to try it out on some of our local Copperheads come spring.

I love my 351PD and I believe that either CCI or Hornady has an excellent defense load.

I have experience with .22 Mag in other short bbl handguns. Stick with the original 40gr CCI JHP or FMJ. The Hornady SD round has tumbled at short range in my guns...

Would not worry about muzzle blast. It's NOTHING compared to, say, a .223/5.56 AR handgun indoors with a 8"-10" bbl.

Congratulations on your purchase. I've owned mine a few years now and it's become one of my favorites. Well after ditching the measly rubber grips for something I can put my hands around first. I don't think I've ever carried anything lighter... even the cell phone in my pocket feels heavier. It's as reliable as my 38 Centennial. If using for self defense look into the Hornady Critical Defense or Speer Gold Dot. Both were made for these kind of revolvers.

what is a 341c ? Is it a titanium 22LR?

I had to many 3 series revolvers on my pea-picking brain. It is a 351c, not a 341c. But it still goes well with my 342Ti.

Just got one today and love it. I shot 75 rds of regular 40 gr plated Winchester through it at 30 feet and it was real accurate. Holding the top edge of the XS dot to the bottom edge of the B-2 target was perfect for me. I wish the sights on my other J's were as easy to see clearly. With the excellent standard rubber grips and no recoil to deal with, it's easy to follow up quickly and accurately. I'm thinking about the rebound spring maybe, but I'm going to shoot a 1,000 rds before I decide to change anything and maybe just develop a stronger trigger finger by then. I'm going to carry the Gold Dots. I love it. A gun that weighs nothing and shoots lights out. Fit and finish are tops.

I am with you there....I won't be changing anything until it is properly broken in. I may pull the side plate and clean the internals a bit, and maybe check for some rough machining & stone it flat.

Did you try the Gold Dots yet? I haven't seen any at my local pusher, but they sound ideal....there is a forum member who has actually had to use a 22 mag to save his life in VN....maybe he will chime in and re-tell his story here.

Gold Dots coming in later this week. tI'll report back when I try them. I wasn't ready to go all in and buy 2,000 rds bulk without having tried some, so I ordered 10 50rd boxes from my local dealer for 15/box.

I've been using full jacketed (plated?) Winchester Super X 40 grain. One light strike on the 80th round, but fired the second time around. I am always very satisfied with Winchester practice ammo for my 45's and 9's. I will need to get something for plinking.

This 351C is so light you can even carry it in sweat pants or lightweight summer clothing where a slightly heavier J frame would cause the clothing to sag and print. The lightweight of the speed strips is also a benefit.

But I too would like to hear from the forum member who used a 22 WMR for real. 40 grains at 1150fps ain't much.

On Jan. 30, 1973 Senator John Stennis was shot during a robbery in Washington, D.C. this is a description of his wounds and surgery that follow.

"His condition was extremely tenuous, having serious wounds, both under his lower rib cage and in his left thigh. Senator Stennis underwent 6 1/2 hours of surgery and the press conference the following day labeled his chances as “guarded” that he would recover. The bullet had ripped through part of his stomach, pancreas and cut through a major vein that empties blood into the intestines. The bullet was not removed from the senator as they patched him up."

This was from a .22 LR.

Not advocating the use of any .22 for defense, but it is all that is at hand then use it. As I understand it in Stennis's case the round ricoheted around before ending up in his thigh. Light slug going fast...........

250 rounds through this and very happy with my 351C.

It is very, very easy to shoot this gun quickly and accurately. I fire about 100rd/wk of pistol but do not compete in pistol other than informal club bullseye matches. I am more into NRA match rifle, so shooting a lot of pistol is counterproductive. Not recoil shy, it just seems to me to be a simple fact there is no recoil with the 22 WMR Gold Dot 40 grain hollow points. So the follow up shot comes faster and is usually closer to the first shot than I can shoot my Model 38 and M&P340 using 158 grain lead semi wadcutters, both of which are four ounces heavier than this 351C. The 351C is quick quick quick to get off three well-placed shots in a 2 + 1 drill.

I love this 351C. So light and so easy to carry in the pocket.

I don't think I'm going to change any springs because this is a pocket carry. It's a safety issue and simply lightening the return spring is not going to make shooting any easier. One just gets used to the heavier pull.

The heavy trigger makes for extremely safe carry.
