Default 629 V-Comp question

Question about 629 V-Comp. Does it come with a barrel shroud to replace the removable muzzle brake?

PERFORMANCE CENTER(R) Model 629 V-Comp | Smith & Wesson

I ran across what appears to be a virgin 629-5 Light Hunter, which also has a removable muzzle brake, see pic. Unfortunately it didn't come with the original box and the associated accessories, including the barrel shroud.

I'm betting the design hasn't changed in years and if the newer model V-Comp comes with one, it will work on the 629-5.

I've got a 627-3 V-Comp I bought used several years ago that did not come with the barrel cap that replaces the compensator. I asked the original owner about it and he said it never had one. I don't know if he was telling the truth or not...

I contacted S&W Customer Service inquiring if I could purchase the end cap for my gun and the gentleman on the line started laughing and said he just happened to have a spare one sitting on his desk. He took my contact info and sent it to me no charge.

Just another reason I'm a fan of S&W...

That's my next step. Just figured it would be easier if the cap was still in production.

thanks
