Default Anyone got a 60-15 Pro series?

Reason I'm asking is a local shop has one used for a reasonable price that I have been ogling.

Wouldn't mind hearing some feedback from anyone who owns one and has put some rounds through their gun.

To tell the truth, I wasn't all that impressed with the trigger on the gun in question but what do I know - seems all new Smith revolvers come with heavy triggers these days.

Mine is one of my favorites and is surprisingly accurate. Dropping in a lighter trigger return spring and dry firing it a few thousand times makes a big difference.

I have only had mine for about ten years so far.

I enjoy the revolver. Whats more this is one of the revolvers that I let students work with when doing classes. Most everyone likes the little 3" Magnum powerhouse

I have one, purchased three years ago. Took the lock off and replaced the hole with the Original Precision lock delete plug. About 700 rounds through it, mostly 38+P, some 357's (just to feel it) and some of my own 158 Gr DEWC handloads. Double action smoothed out after the first 500 rounds and dry-fires. Single was always good. Shoots where I point it. Had to put Hogues on it just to get it to fit my hand, and handle the +P's in my aging grip. Otherwise, it acts like it's a K frame, not a J in my hand. I like it.

Shoots easy and accurate with .38 special.

No fun at all shooting .357 magnum. I fired 5 shots and that will probably be it. By comparison, 4" 19-3 in .357 is a pleasure.

Beautiful gun, well-made, light and feels great in my hand. At $485 + tax, it's a keeper.

Default 60-15 Pro series

Thanks for the feedback. I'll head back to the shop for another look at that revolver Monday. Hope it's still there!

I like mine very much; for it's intended use, it's perfect for me. I've never seen a J frame with a great trigger, although I've read about them.

Yes, Herrett Detective model; good eye. I have large hands, and wanted a little more than the one's from the factory offer.

My wife has one and has been happy with it. We had a gunsmith do a trigger/action job on it. Much better now.

I told myself I was buying it for my gf, but I won't let her shoot it with .357. Mine needs a trigger job as well but I'll just dry fire it a lot while watching the news channels.

I don’t have the -15 pro, but do have a -10 3”. I sent it off to one of the local wizards for some action work. J’s never come out as nice as a K or N frame but it was much improved.
Basically the same gun minus the slabbed barrel and lock. One of the favorites in my herd.

Groo here
Got one, changed grips to Pachmyer after first outing.
Never shot 38's in it.
It will handle 125gr rem SJHP "Flame Throwers" and even
"Groo Monster Maulers" aka 180 cast hunting loads [with new grips]
A perfect walking , woods, etc East of the Mississippi pistol.
Might want a little bigger West...LOL
In a Simple Rugged silver doller holster it just is not there.
With the IWB straps, only Mag revolver that fits in the pants..!!!!!!!!!!
Ps . Pachs make a BIG difference as they cover the backstrap
making the trigger length a little longer and mag are almost
Enjoyable.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've had my 60-15 pro for 5-6 years now. It's my outdoors gun. Accurate and easy to pack in a Bianchi 5BH. The action on a J frame will never equal that of a K,L, or N but double action accuracy can still be rather good. .38 loads are fine and magnum loads are rather enthusiastic, I use the magnums sparingly.

Bought one for my daughter a couple of Christmas past. A really nice gun and with a set of CT laser grips, a great home protection gun.
