I have a 14-8 with a 6” barrel that I would like to rebarrel 4” barrel. Not sure what model or years I can use so any help would be appreciated to know what parts to look for.
This is the Classic version with the tapered barrel. Someone here will know if the threads on this are the same as other K frame .38s; if so, a model 15 4" barrel would be a good match as a replacement.
Except for the shrouded barrel guns all the K frames use the same barrel threads. Barrel, rib and frame profiles varied some over the years.
But, unless your set up to do this yourself, frame wrench, way to adjust barrel shoulder if need be, tool to adjust barrel to cylinder gap, etc etc it would probably be cheaper to sell the 6" and get a 4" 15.
