Default 686+

Are moon clips possible to use with the 686+? If so, which ones and where could I buy them?

Thanks!

Yes, providing the cylinder is machined to accept them. Cylinder modification and moon clips are available from TK Custom. Pinnacle High Performance can also machine the cylinder.

Adios,

Moon clips can only be used on a 686+ if your cylinder is modified to accept them.

I think all the Performance Center 686 models are compatible with Moonclips, and come from the factory with a pair of them.
More Moonclips can also be purchased directly from Smith & Wesson, among other sources.

Be careful on which clips you get. It all depends on the type of ammo you are using. R/P takes a different clip than *line, Fiocchi can be difficult. I've found Speed Beez and TK custom to be good. TK offers a chart with which clips will fit which type of ammo.
