Default Custom 3” Model 65

I love 3” K Frames and over the last few years have wound up with a pretty nice collection including 3” Model 13’s, 10’s, 64’s, 65’s and 66’s that I shoot regularly. Found this little jewel on GB and was surprised no one bid other than me. Specs state it started as a 4” Model 65. Converted to round butt, cylinders chamfered, barrel shortened to 3”, slab sidded, and crowned, HiViz front sight milled in, hammer semi-bobbed, VZ Grips, DA smoothed tp 8lbs and brushed stainless finish. Have taken it out several times and it is a sweet shooter. Considering a L Frame the same guy is building now. Thought you guys might like it.

I have a 3" 65-3 that I didn't think could be improved. I was wrong. Love the slab side barrel. That's a beauty. Thanks for sharing.

Not sure how I feel about the semi-bobbed hammer, but that is a nice looking 65.

I used to have a 3" 65 that had some custom work done. Nice shooter. Still miss it.

I like it! I stopped looking for 3" 65s because I have two and another 64 that I converted to 3 inch 357. I would like to do another 64 with a slab sided barrel and round butt conversion.

I had Michael Ware at Controlled Chaos Arms in Baxter, Iowa do one for me. Sold it to someone who would use it every day, and he loves it.

Controlled Chaos Arms

This was a 65-5 square butt converted to round, slab sided barrel, XS Big Dot sight, rear sight channel opened up, Cerakoated Sniper Grey and Black.

Did that start as 3in, or did they shorten it? Ballpark price?

Started as a 4". First a Round Butt conversion that I shot for awhile, then converted it to the 3" version. Check with Michael for current prices. He does post on his website the cost of Cerakoat.
