Default Dirty Harry

Finally got it all assembled. Yes, not the original 29 but good enough.

Been on my ‘want’ list for many years...just haven’t been able to find a nice example South of $1200...but I’m guessing they won’t be going down in price for a 6 1/2”.

I had one. Very accurate, in spite of heavy recoil.

Mine had smooth rosewood target stocks, probably Cokes.

I bought it before the movie was made. After, prices soared.

Here's one that shipped right before the movie came out in 1971. It would be the 29 Harry would have used at least date wise. But, Model 29s were pretty hard to come by in the early 70s because they were not big sellers so they weren't being produced in large quantities. However, shortly after the movie came out in December, you couldn't find one and when you did, dealers were asking 2-3 times the factory list price. I know this to be true because I bought my first one in 1973 after being on a long waiting list from Herb's Pawn Shop on Victory Drive in Columbus, GA. It cost me about a month's pay.

I think Harry should come out of retirement to work one final case.

Like, a serial killer who's DNA Exactly matches a serial killer Harry took out 50 years ago.
