Found locally
Here in the Alamo City. No dash Nickel Model 36; smooth stocks not numbered to the gun. S/N puts it around 1982.

I'm thinking that 1982 would have been past when S&W would have numbered the stock, so those might be original to the gun.

both stocks have a hand written (in marker) number (the same number) on both stocks.
