What year was shipped? how many produced? and what price range?

My SCSW 3rd edition don't have much info on it.

The code under "M640" appears to show a packing date of April 17, 2019 but the 640-1 went out of production several years ago - does it have the lock?

The SCSW 4 shows the SKU as "machine engraved, 2010" - perhaps the label date has a typo or the gun sat in inventory for 9 years? A call to the factory may clarify this.

no lock. wow interesting packing date 4/17/19 and possibly sat for 9 years

Mine came with a Special Presentation case! Bought at a gun show for $700.00 and the seller said he bought it new with the case!

My 640-1 was the first S&W I ever purchased and it was shipped in 1996.
