Gun Show Find .. Model 17-6
Went to a local gun show this past weekend. Slim pickings on SW revolvers. Ended up finding this Model 17-6, dating to 1989. Had a beautiful set of combats on her.
She was DIRTY, honestly I didn't think it was ever cleaned. Complete breakdown, cleaned, oiled and boy did she clean up really nice. A coat of Ren wax and she good as new.

I was thinking about going to Oaks, I decided to head up to the Fork's on The Delaware up in Allentown, I'm located right off of 309, shot up there.

I've never been to that show, is it any good? Oaks had a nice sample of smiths and colts this go around, but nothing that I needed that bad at the prices they were asking.

Bubba, ya done good!
I have one just like your's. Great shooter.
The Combat stocks are factory issue on those. I've never been able to figure out why S&W chose to put combats on what is obviously a target/hunting revolver? They did the same thing with the full lugged Models 14-5 and 16-4. I swapped mine out for regular target stocks.

You did a great job cleaning it and bringing it back to it's original luster. Enjoy it, I know you have a great shooter there.
