Default Another 686-6 question (SKU 150712)

Just bought this one last week. Box label reads: M686 Plus Deluxe 6". I'm trying to establish why this gun is labelled "Deluxe." Googling tells me little, simply FFL dealer ads copying S&W's boilerplate description. SCSW4 gives it one line with the basic stats, adding it is a TALO model. Possible the "Deluxe" refers to the wood grips that mimic the old style target grips? Anyone? Thanks in advance!

P.S. Must try it out soon: B/C gap is .003". Hopefully this will not impede cylinder rotation. And yes, this J-hound bought a 6" bbld revolver.

As far as I know, the deluxe is only different in that it has the wooden grips compared to the rubber ones.

'Deluxe' is just an S&W marketing tool. It seems to have worked too!! And there's no way you just bought an L frame. All your J frames are going to gang up on it in the safe.
I'm sure you'll enjoy shooting it. It's should be a tack driver.

In SCSW#4 on page 325 (SKU 150712) is stated to be a Lew Horton model but on page 326 that same SKU# is said to be a TALO model. Guess we can pick.

I agree, it's largely just the wooden grips & to differentiate it from the other (7) shot 686s w/rubber grips, & the (7) shot 686 Model 3-5-7, also with wooden grips, that was originally a TALO model, but has an unfluted cylinder.
