It's been calling my name for a while. I've resisted for as long as I could. This morning, I finally answered the call. On the way to me is a brand new S&W Model 686 Plus Deluxe with 6" barrel.

Great score with that tight gap . The last two PC guns I looked at had .014 gaps !OP: I bought the exact same model about 2 weeks ago. B/C gap is .003 and the action is almost 'pre-timed.' Changed the grip to UM RB/SB rubber finger groove. Did not have much time to try it out, but Blazer .357 Medium loads and R/P generic 125gr .357 WM ammo all performed. Not sure yet about trying lead bullet loads with that tight B/C gap. That 6" bbl really soaks up muzzle blast. Must wring it out a LOT more in the near future.Good luck with yours, OP!

P.S. FWIW, I noticed for the 1st time that my preferred .357 Blazer ammo was loaded irregularly: some rounds seemed to be more heavily loaded than normal. Heads up to the mem-ship, maybe?

I know what a Plus is but what is different about the "Deluxe"? Don
Well, they are handsome grips and the gun is elegant. The only 686 I've handled had a superb trigger. Don
