642 PC Enhanced Trigger model
Picking up one of these (no lock version) today. I hadn't really stayed current with all the versions that have come out but I believe these were introduced at the 2017 Shot Show (?)....so...., do any fellow members have one of these and can you really feel the "Enhanced Trigger" work?
Thanks

Never heard of this one. What makes the trigger "enhanced"?

Supposedly, the Performance Center shop does some tuning to it...this is why I am asking here if there is any felt difference.

"Enhanced Action"
The "Enhanced Action" on the PC J-frames, including the "Pro Model" series consists (internally) of the substitution of an 8 pound Wolff mainspring (stock is 8.5 pounds) and a slightly lighter rebound slide spring.
Despite the information provided on the S&W website concerning "hand-cutting and fitting to precise fine-tuning", these guns are the same as all of the other production model J-frames which are still hand assembled, with the exception of the spring substitution.........and the addition of some external "cosmetic" add ons like the Performance Center logo, and sometimes, different (nicer) grips.
The common misconception is that these guns have been individually singled out for special intervention and attention in terms of internal action tuning, polishing and fitting.....and that this "additional attention" justifies the higher initial price.

To the OP
OP: Could you please provide the SKU number from the box label so I can see if I own this model? Then I could perhaps comment.

P.S. Could there be a 642 variant that I don't already own?

I believe that they may have first been a special order for TALO, and were then offered more broadly as a regular cataloged item.
But, I cannot prove my belief.

You may be right.
I stopped trying to keep up with all of the variations years ago.

attn OP
By the provided photos, I do have this model. Yes, it is a nice little gun, but on my example the trigger/double action is NO different from the standard model. I can live with that, I value positive ignition over a reduced trigger pull.

Agree - I do not think it is a lighter pull but may be a smoother pull.

Just went thru the box to see what S&W sent with this and did come across a blue S&W Performance Center tag that identifies this as "Enhanced Action". So, that is the term they used to market this one.
