Default Going price on used 629-4 Classic

I've been shuffling some handguns lately.

I'm debating taking the scope off of my 629-4 Classic, 8 3/8"barrel, 44 magnum, putting the original rear sight back on, and selling it off. It is in good shape.

What is the going price on these? I don't have the original box or paperwork.

Thanks!

That one would be hard for me to turn loose. I bet it shoots like a lazer. I wouldn't sell it for less than $900. If you had the box, at least $1000.

Depends greatly on how and where you sell it? You might get $500-600 at a guns store or pawn shop, whereas an individual will give you considerably more.

I agree with that. You can ask more but it’ll sit for a while. The scope is worth $150-200 too

That M8 Leupold should fetch $200 easily. They don't make them anymore. And I seriously doubt that the op was considering pawning or selling the gun for a fraction of what it's worth.

I don't presume to know what's going through the OP's head, he asked a simple question and I gave him a simple answer based on my experience. He wouldn't have asked if he already knew?

I just picked a similar set up for $825 - 29-5
I wouldn’t sell it for less than $1200.

FWIW, there’s a Classic 6.5” 629-4 at an LGS in Castle Rock, WA. They’re asking $799.

Nice score. The period correct mount and I'm assuming s&w branded rings are very scarce these day, especially blue!

Yep, 700 to 850 no box or scope around here.

I have the exact same gun. That 8 3/8" full underlug tube got a bit heave to hold so I pulled the scope and mount and put it on my table at 6 or 8 gun shows. Nobody was interested. I bought a 4" barrel on ebay and had Andy Horvath install it. It's now one of my favorites. Way better than giving it away.

Yes, they’re S&W rings, I believe they’re made by Tasco. Even though there are better options now, I found another set NIB, just because they’re becoming harder to find.

I guess it's been about 2 years. Shows were Washington County, PGCA, and Showmasters Monroeville.

I’m not a “Gamer” but Cabelas sounds like gamestop. And ***** Cabelas when it comes to selling your guns you’re better off selling privately or on gunbroker.com.

That’s not the gun that ARH had was it? I can’t think of seeing any other ones
