Default Dating Model 57

I picked up a 6" model 57 in good condition. Odd that it does not have a pinned barrel, but the cylinder is recessed, Serial number is N878XXX. Any idea on the year of manufacture?

My guess would be about 1982. It would be a transitional model. I have a 629 the same way. Unpinned bbl but recessed cylinder

I was hoping to see pics of the model you are dating. Wrong thread I guess.
