It depends on which rear sight was on your 629. The older square tang sight or the current sight with the round tang and the factory drilled & tapped top strap.
If the former, your only resource is the secondary market like eBay or Numrich. Not all square tang sights are the same. You need to know the critical dimension shown in the picture below, and purchase the appropriate sight.
The LPA sights are made to install on the current factory D&T'd frames. If yours is not factory, it will depend on the spacing of the holes added to mount the optic - not likely to be the same as factory. One option you would have is a Bowen Rough Country rear sight. He makes one with the old-style square tang that is not drilled, so it can be drilled to match what you have.
OTOH, Bowen's are also available for the new style rear sight which will use the existing holes. For my money, the Bowen sight is far superior to the LPA and I have and have used both. In my area the cost is about the same. Of course, with the round-tang sight, they are still available from S&W (even if they are temporarily out). If it were my gun, I'd opt for the Bowen in either case. Sometimes hard to find - I think he sells them primarily to gunsmiths. That's where I got mine.
Good luck.
