Since the world is coming to an end.....
Since the world is clearly coming to an end, I thought I better grab a Model 69 .44 Combat Magnum and toss some gorgeous, elegant Pat Grashorn grips on 'er. Go ahead and toss us your, "World coming to an end.." revolvers
Go ahead and, "Like" away.

Last week I plunked down some serious dough for a S&W 686 Pro Series -- pickup day would be Tuesday but I don't know if the LGS is even going to be open!

This is sort of the crazy thing! I've just sort of been jonesing for a '69 (STOP!) but holding off. I figured I better grab one today before the entire SHTF occurs. I was in a small LGS today and some older chick was literally reading every question on the form OUT LOUD! She clearly has never purchased a firearm before! The 23 year old at the end of the counter kept asking the owner for clarity on every question! What in the heck are these folks going to do with whatever they are buying? I think that the first litmus test of firearms purchase should be, "Do I understand the question"?!?!

If we get those $1,000 checks, I’m going to pick up a 327. Finding “food” to feed it, that’s a different story.

If you find a .327 now, I would go ahead and buy it! That $1,000 is going to end up being $800 at best then you'll buy SPAM and toilet paper with it. Grab the .327, give it a kiss and sleep the best sleep!

If I had the money and were going to get a S&W revolver, I'd probably go after my grail gun, a 640ND. Been after one for quite a few years, came close to getting one a couple of times but it always fell through.
But I'd keep my eyes open for a DAO 649 in .38 Special, too.
Right now I only have two S&W revolvers, a 642ND and a 642-1.

I will give a heads up here. My FFL advised me to come in early and do the paperwork for a gun I have on order being shipped. The FFL was afraid that government May shut down gun transfers. Several states have already done this.
Now, off topic, I did order a 223 / 556 pistol that I have been kind of watching because my old eyes work better with red dots and sights. Decided to buy before they became unavailable or over priced.
I already have two model 57 41 magnums and two 29-2 44s.
If the end of the world is here, I plan to strap one of those in a holster on my side. No Need to keep it out of sight.

Also, the FFL delays have become quite long. This will help decrease your wait when the weapon arrives.

No end of days Smiths on my list. I already own or have owned a bunch of grail guns.
I am toying with the idea of getting a commercial 1917 that is being offered locally. Price seems a bit high for the condition. $750. Guessing from the pictures maybe a 85-88% gun.

I went to my LGS then to Academy, saw the lines everywhere and realized how many folks that I would be standing next to for how long and aborted the mission, but I did want a S&W 940 from the LGS to take to Valhalla with me, but I will have to hope it can wait!

Last one I bought was mid January. It's a model 69.
Also paid for a 4.25" Python on the 10th of January. If the world is gonna end, it will probably happen before I get it at this rate.

If I can sneak in a question about the Model 69 please, is the Model 69 cylinder the same length as the N frame 44 Magnums? Thanks.

Bought a Glock 44 last month. Also, unlike the last panic, I go into this one with multiple thousands of rounds to feed it, and the 63.

OK, thanks much. I was wondering if they are long enough to shoot Keith bullets in magnum brass without deep seating them.

My last firearm purchase was a Pre-model 18 K22 Target Masterpiece last week. With plenty of .22LR on hand, it will make a great all around EOTWAWKI piece. I may end up having to
hunt the numerous squirrels and rabbits that inhabit our adjacent woods...who knows?

One is none, two is one, right? But.... been marred 42 years. Wouldn't change anything, but one is plenty.

Owning a firearm makes anybody armed and dangerous, even a toddler. It’s more a matter of WHO is endangered.

This ^^^. And he sort of had an ulterior motive given that he was teaching people how to be dangerous to the right people while minimizng the danger to yourself

A week or so ago I bought this Lew Horton, 3", 24-6, 44 Special. Unfortunately, on the first trip to the range I discovered the reason it had such a light trigger was because someone had apparently replaced all the springs with ones that were too light. Between light strikes, and failure of the trigger to return properly about half the time, I decided to take it back. Then I decided to let the in house gunsmith take a look at it and fix it if he can. After all, I DO like the gun. If he can't for some reason, I get my money back. Right after that, things really went out of wack with the world, and I haven't heard anything more. So, I'm just waiting for...something.
I did put a 27-9 on layaway. No big rush to get it out either.

(Although, I did add a Uberti 1873 Cattleman El Patron in .45 LC to the pile this week.)

I've purchased many guns that have had "issues". With good diagnosis skills, they have come home with me and been up and running with a spring or two. Or just a good cleaning.

Might as well have as much ammunition and toilet paper to last until then?

I live in TN and was in my local GS to get some primers today. The store was doing a brisk business and no sign of stopping transfers. Several people were in the process of getting background checks. Matter of fact our governor Is very pro 2nd amendment as are many of the counties in the state. The county I live in as well as quite a few others have declared they are Gun sanctuary counties and removing many restrictions on where we can carry. TN has recently, as I understand, made it possible to obtain your Concealed Cary permit without any firearms training and just taking a short course on safety on line and a $65 fee.
I can’t see this happening in TN. When the TN legislature tried to get a state income tax years ago, residents of the state converged on Nashville and paralyzed traffic with their cars surrounding the capital and blew their horns all afternoon. They shut the city down. Then every legislator that voted for the tax were voted out of office. I’ve lived here nearly 70 years and we still don’t have an income tax and have very relaxed restrictions on guns. Our politicians know better than to pull any slick tricks.
I’m sure it’s just internet chatter.

When I was in my LGS today, the background checks being run in several customers were approved in just minutes. TN serms to have a very good approval system.

I, too, am really hoping things keep moving along. After looking and wishing for a few years I finally was able to buy one of my grail guns, a model 57, and it's supposed to ship out tomorrow. As you can see, it currently has ugly GoodYears on it but a kind member of this group agreed to sell me a beautiful set of combats for it. I know, a 6" should have targets but I just couldn't pass them up and my payment to him is going out in tomorrow's mail. Just holding my breath that everything gets here ok and in a timely fashion.

Especially with those Grashorn grips on it!
I have a pair of their grips, but keep them on a 3" 65.

Here is my new one for the end of the world, lol. Picked it up about 3 weeks ago. It is a toss up between this 629 or my .460 for the end of the world

And here is my .460 S&W with my 629-6. Probably if there was a Zombie break out, then I would pick the .460 for the power. But if I had to do a lot of walking to escape them I would pick the 629. .

Tennessee is loosening up, not locking down.
"TN has recently, as I understand, made it possible to obtain your Concealed Cary permit without any firearms training and just taking a short course on safety on line and a $65 fee".
Yes, and the previous CC permits automatically became enhanced permits and were given additional privileges.
The new permits without training do not contain all the original privileges.

End of the world? No just thinning the population. That’s what I believe. I’m not buying any guns or ammo I’ll wait for the sell off when this is over. There will be plenty of new guns in the used gun case to pick from. Wait till then.

It is coming to an end.....But only one entity knows the date.....Enjoy the time you have left. Chances are you'll die first.

Since the world is coming to an end.....
My last gun was a collectible Sig Sauer W German P220 in 38 Super but before that in Dec and Jan I bought several large caliber revolvers. The last from a forum member... a 629-4 3" with unfluted cylinder.
The past 2 weeks I have sold several guns and ammo that were in excess of what anyone could possibly need in a crisis. I didn't jack up the prices, they just sold quickly. Now is the time to sell not to buy

Nice Model 69, mod34. I have a 4.25” and love it.
I guess my End Of The World Panic Buy Gun is a 3” Model 65. I won it on Gunbroker a week ago, and I guess I did stick my neck out a little. I’ve wanted another since my last one “disappeared” a little over two years ago.

A change in the way we live our lives is coming and the way we do business too. It’s not the end but a new beginning, a new dawn, we’re getting a wake up call. Don’t take life for granted.

I think he meant to M327, not a .327 caliber.
Here's my Clockwork Orange.
