What do you guy's think of the lock on a -4 ?

Never seen one. Usually, you don't the lock until -5 series.

Can you post some pictures?

The 686-4 is pre-lock.

The lock began with the -6.

I have someone telling me they have a 686-4 with a lock ? never seen one.

My 686-4 came with a lock-I think it is somewhere in the shed (the lock-not the gun)

Love ‘em! S&W supplied their guns with trigger or cable locks for a few years, before they add the internal lock to their revolvers (around 2001). I can only assume that what he’s talking about.
