S&W Model 27-3 FBI Commemorative Edition .357
I got a super sweet deal on a new, inbox S&W Model 27-3 FBI Commemorative Edition .357 Magnum. It is missing three things: the original cardboard box, the letter re: why the revolver was made and the envelope that that letter came in. It has never been fired that I can tell. I am not going to keep it. Any idea on what a fair price would be? TIA

The revolver was made to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the FBI being authorized by Congress to carry arms. I am retired from that organization and have been looking for one of these for some time.

DR505, are you still interested in this pistol. With everything that is going on, some people aren't spending any money.

I always wanted one. My association with the Bureau was much too late to get one of these when the Ex-Agents association had them produced
After my mentor retired he eventually moved to a smaller house and gifted his FBI 27 to me
Odds are that when I pass, this revolver will be on the same corner of the desk in my study as Tom kept it in his

Absolutly correct
Back in the day Smith & Wesson had most of the Commemeratives added to the C&R list as they were built
By definition, this is a Curio

Welcome to the Forum
3200 of these revolvers were produced in 1983
Most of the owners of these Model 27s tend to keep them.
However several tend to turn up every year on the various auction or for sale sites.
