Default Model 24-3 6" any good?

I browse Armslist regularly and come across a deal or two. A couple of weeks back I saw some ads for a 29-2 and a 24-3.

It was a young man whose dad passed and had a small gun collection and wasn't interested in them, I made a package deal on these two.

I had taken the 24 out a few days ago and was very pleased at how well it shot. Yesterday I went out to the woods and set up my target at 15 yards and these were the first 6 out of the gun freehand.. I think this is a keeper.

$400 and it's wearing black washer cokes. (correction, black washer football.)

Wink Those are NOT cokes

They are simply standard S&W N-frame target stocks for square butt grip frames.

Enjoy your new guns!

Both are great guns and at that price a total bargain.
The Model 24.3 can only fire .44 special which costs a bit more than .44 mag but is a pleasure to shoot.
The Model 29.2 can fire either, that revision is also the last pinned barrel recessed chamber version.

The front sight looks to have been slightly altered but considering that those guns in untouched condition sell for about $1000 these days you did great at $400 !
