Value of 627 PC, Prelock, Unfluted Cylinder
Gentlemen,
Could you please provide me with any information and a value of this revolver? It's a S&W Performance Center 627, prelock, with an unfluted cylinder. On the frame it lists the model as 627-PC, with 631 on the crane, the serial number is BDM001x. The "x" is my way of blotting out the last number. It's a round butt and the stocks are not the originals.
It has the aluminum Performance Center case. The case has a few small dings.
I would greatly appreciate your help.

Well, you might want to think about this one a bit. The unfluted cylinder 627 PC is pretty seldom seen, compared with the fluted cylinder ones. Also, they were supposed to ship in a black cheap Duskocil box. But, other 627 PC variations may have shipped in the Performance Center aluminum case during the same year, so maybe it could be the original case. Does it have original paperwork, or label on the box that would give credence that the aluminum case is original?
The fluted cylinder ones have been selling in the $1600 range in the last year. So, with the scarce variation and aluminum case, I would think it should bring more than $1200. Non original stocks detracts from value, as well.

What you have is a Lew Horton Special made in 1998. 1 of 219 produced. It should have come in a black plastic box with rosewood grips. Todays value should be $2800-$3500 depending on condition
