Default 36-10 Case Colored Questions

I recently picked up a 36-10 2" Case Colored revolver. It is basically new but without the box. 1st question: Any idea of how many produced? I contacted Turnbull since I had been told they did some and they said they only did 6 pieces of this model. so I assume the balance were done by Smith & Wesson but really don't know. 2nd question: Any idea of the actually market value of one of these? I have searched for the last 3 months since I purchased this one to find what they might be worth. No luck so far.
Thanks to all who might assist.

I don't have any hard information, but that's never stopped me before.

Turnbull did the case-hardening on the Heritage series of 2001-ish. I don't know who did the case-hardening on the 2007-ish Classic series of model 36's, but it wasn't that shop.

Is yours the 2" barrel, or the 3"?

Can you post a picture?

If you pull the grips off, Turnbul color case hardened revolvers will have his mark stamped into the grip frame

At least several hundred of the Model 36s (2" & 3" combined) were made with the non-Turbul color case hardened frames. These were not done by Smith & Wesson, but I do not recall who did them

Since it was not an invoiced exclusive order for a specific Distributor, the total number may never be known

Some time last year, I picked up a 2" in the box. Condition was claimed to be unfired. With shipping and everything it cost me in about the mid $500s to get it here. As soon as it arrived my cousin had to have it, what are you going to do . . . It's family

To me. The only visible case colored parts in a Smith & Wesson revolver should be the hammer and the trigger.

Having owned many Colt revolvers with Color Case Hardened frames, I appreciate the look of a Color Case Hardened frame on a wide range of Firearms

I even want to add a Henry Big Boy to the family once we are over our Chinese Virus Crisis

Thank you to all who weighed in. Mine is the 2" model. I am still trying to learn how to post photo's. Turnbull informed me that they did do 6 of this model but my serial number did not fall in their group. I am planning on holding onto it to see if it mysteriously becomes the rarest revolver ever produced. Ha! Thank you all again..
