Default Early 686 Grips

Did early 686's ever come with the football cutout grips, or did they all have the SLC grips?

Everything I see says the footballs went up until 1982. Is this possible?

Thanks!

This one shipped in mid 1982 with these speed loader cutouts. And of course, almost anything is possible with Smith & Wesson...

My 19-4 shipped in 1980 with speed loader cutout stocks. When I acquired it, I was told the football cutout stocks were gone by 1978.

I'm sure to real experts will be along soon.

I think the footballs lasted a few years into the 80s on the N frames.
