Default Opinions please on customizing 4" 547

I have a NIB 547 4" pinned barrel that I am keeping as is, but just bought another 4" not pinned that is used and has import stamp between serial # and Model #. I bought this gun to shoot. Since it has been fired, has import stamp, no box and no pinned barrel, I am thinking about having it converted to adjustable sights and have Alex Hamilton preform on of his superb action / accurizing jobs. It will but me back $600 or $700 and destroy any collector value which is already somewhat diminished.

What do you think?
I think it will be a cool gun.

If it is what you want, I would go for it

Customizing is about making the piece yours and there is noting wrong with that

Sounds like a nice plan. I have a decent 547 3''. As far as action work I do not know how much can be accomplished. I'm no Smith, but know my way around inside AND FOR ME the best I could do was stone and polish and that did help out with the rather stiff trigger pull.

Two people I know and trust, one being a gunsmith said not much can be done like a spring kit or spring mods as it needs a heavy hit to set the top cartridge holder and also give the lower firing pin a good hit.

If you do the project please keep us informed!

Thanks for the input. Alex Hamilton doesn't just smooth the action, I can do that myself, I have been for 45 years. Alex also includes many accurizing components and other enhancements.
He:
Polishes all of the internal parts and adjusts the single action release based on intended use.
He cleans, polishes, chamfers and numbers the charge holes measures the throat and hones it if needed.
Corrects end shake, head space, forcing cone gap and angle.
He recuts the crown.
Installs an internal trigger stop.
I have had him do 4 revolvers in the last 2 months and he has 2 now. My EDC 640 Pro and a Texas Ranger model 19.
