Default L Frame sights

What are best options for replacing stock red ramp front sight on 686 revolver? Do I need to replace the rear sight also? Red ramp just does not have as sharp contrast as I have in a Sig with white night sights, (2 dot rear).

I changed out my front sight with a fiber optic one. It's been years ago and don't recall the manufacturer. I do remember making sure it was a direct replacement for my S&W Model 686 Plus revolver. Good luck and be safe.

I still prefer the Patridge front sight.

Cheap option: Matte black hobby paint.
Sophisticated option: S&W L-frame Patridge front sight.
Either one works and works with the stock rear sight.

If you are handy and want a high contrast front sight, paint or drill and paint a white (or whatever color you like) dot onto the face of the Patridge sight.

Very sophisticated solution...

Smith & Wesson DX Front Sight Base [P411] - $45.95 : + Bowen Classic Arms +, Parts Store

And use any front sight blade you want.

Adios,

Pizza Bob

PS: For a real Perfecta, change the rear sight to a Bowen Rough Country

Do you happen to have a picture of it? My Toklat has a fiber optic front sight and I really like it. Not a bad idea adding one to my 586.
