Open the cylinder, push the ejector rod, and clean very well underneath the extractor and on the back of the cylinder where it seats. Use a stiff toothbrush type tool. Try that and let us know if it helps. If not, we can try something else.

Cleaning there is something you need to do on any revolver. The owner was probably unaware of what was causing the cylinder to be hard to turn and bind up. I'm just guessing based on the clues given. There is no way to know for sure what's really going on over the internet a lot of times.

Dont worry about that. It’s not a common issue. That gun could have a hand issue. Or crud in the action binding something up. You dont have to bring feeler gauges like I do but be sure to function check the gun before you buy.

Also, some revolvers have a tendancy to build up powder reside on the extractor rod, by the collar, making rotation hard.

Cleaning is important whether it's a revolver or a semi-auto pistol.

...and in a pinch, you can depress and hold the ejector rod and BLOW under there to clear-out those stray powder flakes.

Yes, but only if you keep it clean, dry and free of oil. Oil makes all the junk stick and you will never be able to blow it off.

The owner and Youtube poster got the gun back and he made this subsequent video. S&W replaced the hand and extractor.

The owner also said the gun had previously been back to S&W for a cylinder replacement due to some type of erosion.

For the OP, I don't see any reason or reference why a type or brand of ammo was causing any of the problems.

It is a great little revolver. No matter what product you pick, there will be person or two claiming epidemic problems with the item. That is the nature of the Internet

I have had my 2" 327 pug nose since about the time they first came out. I bought it back in 2004. So far no problems. It shoots great.

I like the 2" 327 so much that I have even added some more Pug Nosed N-frames to my family

Exclamation MALFUNCTIONS

Glad to see your problem was resolved. However, it's JMHO, that many shooters both past and present, with emphasis on present, say the last 40 years or so, just dont realize most guns today are so well made, due in part to insurance issues, that they just dont allow for untold number of firings needed before cleaning. Some go to the range and expect the firearms to function, regardless. I see a lot of this. Even with todays cleaner smokeless powder the tolerances just dont allow for this. Some guns never did. Just one example would be my model 48 from the early '60's. after 3 or so cylinders full down range she requires a short brushing around and under the star. Such guns are, or seem to be noted for this. There are exceptions of course, such as Colt 45ACP's. This gun, along with the M1 Grand were designed to be dropped in the mud, shaken off and still function. The majority of us leave the range, go home and clean our guns, something I never have gotten tired of. But if you are expecting to put a few boxes down range the you might want to think about at least packing along a GI brush or two. one note here, most ranges do not allow the cleaning of firearms at the range, I expect with good reason but a light dry brushing you can get by with. Those that hunt with a handgun, know you are lucky to get more than a couple shots off, much less a box full. So keeping thing clean can for the most part take you a long way. Just my take on such matters.

Those are Scandium framed, 2", Model 625s chambered for the 45 Long Colt cartridge

Smith & Wesson had a third chambering in the N-frame Pug Nose design and that was 45 ACP.
