Default Going for the 'New York Reload'

Don't hafta remember which pocket has which gun.

They are the same.

S&W Model 632-2 Pro Series chambered for the .327 Federal Magnum.

Just recently acquired these two.
They are, to me, the epitome of a pocket rocket.
Two inch barrel, (technically 2 1/8"), fixed sights, round butt, and chambered for a myriad of 32 calibre offerings up to and including the toasty .327 Federal Magnum - X6.

And, all stainless.

Load 'em down, load 'em up. Good to go.

enjoy,
bdGreen

Nice revolvers, the Centennials are (IMHO) the handiest revolvers made. You need the Bell Charter Oak “New York Reload” holster to go with them.

Very, very nice. The .327 is a great cartridge. Gotta love a NY reload.

Very nice! And I would also say, very effective if needed. Which grip configuration do you prefer? And did they come that way? I can see benefits to both, like the open back would snag less, but the fully enclosed frame would be more comfy to shoot.

Are you running the factory springs, or have you lightened them?

I can see me carrying them and feeling safe in doing so. But I don't need another cartridge to reload,......... hmmmm

I didn't realize the J frame 327's were six-shooters.

Nice guns. I too, have two Centennials. One is a S&W 342 AirLite in .38 Special. The other is a S&W 351C in .22 Magnum. Both easy to carry.

I'm not usually a fan of the Pro Series Centennials but those are a coupla handsome revolvers in a very underrated chambering!

To the OP: durn your hide! I didn’t know such a revolver existed, and then to find this model is out of production - oh, that’s just not right. I’m a big fan of the NY Reload but I carry a Model 638-1 and a Model 38-0.

On the plus side, now I’ve got something to add to my grail gun list.

Regards,

Dave

Both of these guns shipped in the same month of the same year, September, 2011.

They each sport a different style of grip.

I actually had thought of getting a matched set, but, the config of each one offers a different interface between the gun and my hand and I kinda like them both for that reason.

They each have a mildly different 'touch' on the trigger pull.

Don't have any idea if anyone has been in there before me.

They are both really good, just a tad different.

I have not opened either of them up.

I have owned them both for 'days', not weeks or even months.

And, I do concur with your assessment of the value of each set of grips.

bdGreen

Well, in keeping in line in this thread, if I did a New York reload, it'd be with these two.
Just need a holster now for both.

A spare gun is still a pretty good place to keep spare ammunition.

If I has to carry a revolver I absolutely would carry 2. Packing only one will get you killed.

No,
I usually wear it in the traditional strong side placement. That makes the forward facing butt a cross draw for the weak hand

If I am going to be working from a seated position, like driving, I wear it on the opposite side making the forward facing butt a cross draw for the strong hand

Bell Charter Oak makes this holster for auto loaders up to 1911 Government size but only small frames on the wheel gun side.

I am contemplating ordering one of these holsters for a pair of alloy framed 1911 Commanders but then I have to buy a pair of Commanders since all of mine are steel framed

This holster would work pretty well for a pair of Smith & Wesson 1013/1014s or even a pair of CS10s

Groo here
DO NOT use the center of the back carry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Think about falling down on your back and hitting a piece of metal
[aka gun] with your spine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
IF the holster was made and worn to to sit on either side of the spine
that would be one thing...
BUT most dont take this into consideration.
Even single is not so good...!!!!!!!!!!
Two holsters worn at 4 or 5 oclock and 7 or 8 oclock
would be much better.
Tried it fell down walking in woods ,limped home, many adult
drinks later fell to sleep , got better in about 3 days.....
PS many trainers don't like butt forward as if correct draw is not used the gun is pointing at you.
Take the time to train well.
My friend and I used such butt forward carry with single action revolvers
Worn at 4 oclock it is most comfortable.
Just train not to cock the gun till it is clear of holster and barrel pointed forward.
