Default Question on year 2000 S&W Schofield

Thought I'd drop into my favorite Local Gun Shop and found a
2000 S&W Schofield Revolver for sale.

It's used 2000 S&W Mdl 1873 Mod 3 Single Action 7"Bbl and
takes the 45 Schofield Cartridge. LGS has a Price of $1900 on
it.

Checked it over quickly, appeared to have NO peening around
the cartridge end of the Cylinder. What other items should one
look for when inspecting it?

Just wondering and need the Sage of the S&W Forum here as
to if this is a Fair Price.

The Schofield is a Neat and Unique Revolver I have always been interested in.

Thoughts?

I think that $1900 is in the going price range for these. Not a hot deal, not an inflated price. Just my opinion.

As a collectible, it would be an fine addition to any collection.
However, if you want a shooter, you can get one of the various copies made by Uberti for far less money. I have one of the Navy Arms/Uberti versions and am quite happy with it.

Just checked GB. They have one S&W 2000 Schofield like new in presentation case with a starting bid of $2755.00. No bids yet.
They also have several of the Uberti clones for right around $800-1000.

Smile Flip open six Shooter

I have inspected the Uberti Schofields! They are very well Manufactured.
Another Local Gun Shop I frequent, usually has 1 or 2 Schofields
on hand.

Thank you for your suggestion of Uberti Schofields. In keeping with
my theme of Smith & Wesson, it has caught my eye.

The 2000 S&W Schofield I'm talking about above, appears in NRA 98%.

Currently has Stag type Grips on it. I think it is sort a neat and
makes it different from the rest.

One thing I didn't do is ask if there is the Original Box with it.
