Green Dot on my 8-3/8" 629
These old eyes aren't getting any better so I figured I needed some type of a crutch for my 629. I've ordered a Holosun HE507C reflex sight from Midway to bolster my sighting ability. Found a base made by a company in PA that is made for S&W revolvers. Everything being delivered this week and my gunsmith friend is going to drill and tap the 629 to accept it. Any comments or advice from anyone using one of these rigs?

I don't have the Holosun but all my revolvers sport red dots as I'm old and blind. Tubes are faster for me in regard to finding the dot, but I'm plenty fast to find the RMR dots before the critters or targets run away.
My 629 8 3/8" is the only one sporting a 2x scope. My wife got that set up for me back when we were dating, so that will remain as is 'till I'm 6' under.

I'm 78 yo and use dots on competition guns. Your 629 might already be drilled and tapped if it's one of the newer models.

I just installed a Leupold Deltapoint on a 629. Just got it sighted in and fired about 50 rounds through it. Others that tried it had a hard time finding the dot at first. It does feel different!

All my serious shooters (629/29) have a Burris FFIII on them. I can't shoot diddly with open sights. Wish I could. All are on Raptor mounts. I just put one on this latest addition to the club.

Bob, it's a 629 (no dash) so it has to be drilled and tapped, while we're at it my gunsmith friend is going to use the base as a template and drill and tap my 625-2 at the same time.
Thanks guys for all your comments.
