Default ten year old M&P 340 getting wear

I have an M&P 340 that I have been carrying for about ten years. It has been mostly pocket carried in a holster or just chucked in a pocket. it now has wear on the edges and has been dropped a couple of times. The right edge of the top strap got a little ding in it. The Big Dot sight is now ten years old as well. Does anyone know if S&W will refurbish these? I am sort of anal about the condition of my stuff and would like to look at a refinish!
I know about honest, character wear etc.

On the S&W site they do list refinishing services. I'd give 'em a call and see how much. By the way, after 4 or 5 years carrying my M&P340 I also have some wear on the high points and sharp edges but I have to say it has held up remarkably well for a carry piece. The sights are available aftermarket but I'm sure Smith would install a new one also.

Well if you refinish it now, do you intend to keep carrying it and refinish it again in 10 more years? I mean it’s not like an expensive watch, or a piece of jewelry, it’s just a tool right? After 10 years in a pocket it’s not supposed to look pretty.

Best of luck with whatever you decide to do.

The 340's are stout and can handle the abuse. I get wanting ot pretty again. I have 2 of em. Carry another 10 years then get it done !

Mine is more than ten years old and I am impressed with the lack of wear.
