Default Serial Number Information

Good Morning,

I completed my magnum collection yesterday with the purchase of a 29-3.

I'd like to find out the dates of manufacture for my three revolvers.

The details are as follows:

1) Model 586, Serial AHV7623, Blued, .357 Magnum, 4” Barrel
2) Model 57-1, Serial AJH9917, Blued, .41 Magnum, 6” Barrel
3) Model 29-3, Serial AZC8263, Blued, .44 Magnum, 4” Barrel

Thanks in advance for any information you can provide! Please let me know if any additional information is required.

The .41 and .44 are recent acquisitions, I purchased the 586 new and carried it on duty as a sheriffs deputy before switching to a S&W 669. Lol, that was prior to the Glock invasion.

Welcome! Cool guns. Here are some age estimates:

AHV - fall, 1985
AJH - summer, 1985
AZC - spring, 1988

If you have the original box and end label for the 586 we can date it pretty precisely.

Great, thanks so much! I'll have to look for the box. Interesting how two of them are from the same year. In '85 I was active duty, USAF, doesn't seem that long ago...…..

And thanks for the welcome!
