Price check on a 625-3 with 3" barrel
gun is in nice shape and the guy is asking $775 for it. Has a nice set of aftermarket wood grips but I forgot the maker's name

Wow.
My gun budget got blown on a Model 48 last week but I'd nuke my budget for a 3"625 @ that price.

If it were NIB, $775 is about 1/2 price. $1100 north, without box, is common. About 2 years ago I traded into my LNIB, 3” 625-3 for a value of $775 with a good friend and original owner, who put a mere 30 rounds through it.

I paid $900 for mine, very clean with aftermarket grips and no box, a couple of years ago. $775 is a great price and the 625-3 is a great revolver. It’s too good to pass up.

That's a great price. Aftermarket grips don't hurt the value at all, in my opinion, since the original style grips can be found for about $30.

Well.....not a good ending. Went back. First off ,my Saturday stamp wasn't enough for the promoter-had to pay another $8 to get in. THAT just rubbed me the wrong way-I mean I-am-going-to -buy-a-gun-from -one-of-their-vendors; otherwise why would I be back the next day? The Seller had changed the price to $875 somce I saw the gun Saturday. I asked him what was the best the could do and he said $875 plus tax (9.5%) PLUS $25 FOR THE BACKGROUND CHECK!!! I thought "shove it up your rear" and politely said "Thank you sir for your time". I then went to Northern Tool and bought a new Stihl chainsaw-stopped for some cracklin and diet coke for the ride home and played with my chainsaw the rest of the afternoon.

Like the early S&W Model 57 and 58 .41 Magnums, few had any interest in them when they were in production. CDNN, the Abilene, TX company that sells many unpopular guns at great prices, had the 625-3 3" revolvers at a closeout price of around (I think) $250 or $260 dollars in the early 1990s.
